manager?<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>what it takes to get promoted<br \/>\n<em>from staff to senior to manager<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>staff job:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>entry-level<\/li>\n<li>works on one job at a time<\/li>\n<li>does not supervise staff<\/li>\n<li>mainly focuses on learning basic technical skills<\/li>\n<li>rarely reports to a partner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>what it takes to advance from staff to senior<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>has the ability to senior small jobs<\/li>\n<li>hits annual charge hour budget with an acceptable realization<\/li>\n<li>has mastered basic technical work<\/li>\n<li>doesn\u2019t repeat mistakes<\/li>\n<li>has 2-3 years as a staff person<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>senior job:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>runs jobs in the field<\/li>\n<li>mostly does one job at a time, but not always<\/li>\n<li>supervises staff<\/li>\n<li>has heavy client contact<\/li>\n<li>has lots of
