{"id":8641,"date":"2010-09-15t16:36:37","date_gmt":"2010-09-15t20:36:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/48e130086c.nxcli.net\/?p=8641"},"modified":"2024-11-19t21:35:14","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20t02:35:14","slug":"no-retirement-ever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"\/\/www.g005e.com\/2010\/09\/15\/no-retirement-ever\/","title":{"rendered":"no retirement &#8212; ever?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>how does your workplace compare?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>nearly two-thirds of working americans seriously doubt they&#8217;ll ever be able to retire.<\/p>\n<p>and while they are satisfied with their work, many fear taking time off from their jobs and feel disconnected from their companies, according to a new study.<\/p>\n<p>the survey provides a basis of comparison for accounting firm workplace attitudes, as well as clues into the massive opportunity for cpa financial planning services.<\/p>\n<p>market researchers at strategyone,  a unit of edelman, the global pr outfit, say:    <!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>82% of employed americans are satisfied with their jobs.<\/li>\n<li>72% enjoy where they work and look forward to coming to work every day.<\/li>\n<li>83% feel respected by their boss.<\/li>\n<li>82% say their boss respects their work.<\/li>\n<li>74% say their colleagues are among the best things about where they work.<\/li>\n<li>64% believe that realistically they won&#8217;t ever be able to stop working and retire.<\/li>\n<li>46% have had their wages or salaries reduced over the last couple of years.<\/li>\n<li>44% are concerned about losing their jobs.<\/li>\n<li>48% worry about having their hours cut back.<\/li>\n<li>37% are underemployed and not working as many hours as they would like because there is not enough work available at their current jobs.<\/li>\n<li>40% said their bosses expect them to work extra hours without raises or additional compensation.<\/li>\n<li>78% described themselves as &#8220;working to live&#8221; compared to&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>22% who said work is their top priority in life.<\/li>\n<li>26% fear being fired if they take a day off&#8230;<\/li>\n<li> 49% don&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>82% communicate well with their bosses, but<\/li>\n<li>44% say their companies put corporate &#8220;values&#8221; on the wall that are mostly meaningless to them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>how does your workplace compare?
