(&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/waysandmeans.house.gov\/sites\/democrats.waysandmeans.house.gov\/files\/documents\/secure%20act%20section%20by%20section.pdf\">the secure act<\/a>,&#8221; for short) modifies the requirements for employer-provided retirement plans, individual retirement accounts (iras), and other tax-favored savings accounts.<\/p>\n<p>with respect to employer-provided retirement plans, the bill modifies requirements regarding<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>multiple employer plans;<\/li>\n<li>automatic enrollment and nonelective contributions;<\/li>\n<li>tax credits for small employers that establish certain plans;<\/li>\n<li>loans;<\/li>\n<li>lifetime income options;<\/li>\n<li>the treatment of custodial accounts upon termination of section 403(b) plans;<\/li>\n<li>retirement income accounts for church-controlled organizations;<\/li>\n<li>the eligibility rules for certain long-term, part-time employees;<\/li>\n<li>required minimum distributions;<\/li>\n<li>nondiscrimination rules;<\/li>\n<li>minimum funding standards for community newspaper plans;
