these are scary times for accounting professionals.\u00a0today’s t<\/em>echnology shifts are causing giant shifts in the whole paradigm of the accountant\u2019s business model\u2014and for the definition of most trusted advisor.<\/p>\n

and for most firms, the shift is overwhelming. we face concepts like\u00a0hosted applications<\/em>,\u00a0online accounting<\/em>,\u00a0mobile computing<\/em>,\u00a0hourly vs. value pricing, outsourcing, chunkification of the business process<\/em>, apps everywhere, and\u00a0digital plumbing.\u00a0<\/em>especially on top of the stress of cranking out client work that needs to be done today.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

as i talk with accountants about these changes it\u2019s clear that a large majority of them are simply refusing to change anything because \u201ctheir clients aren\u2019t asking for it.\u201d and who could blame them?<\/p>\n
