states \u00e2\u20ac\u201d illinois, louisiana, rhode island, tennessee, indiana, maine,  and texas \u00e2\u20ac\u201d approved mobility legislation in 2007, and new mexico enacted it this year. meanwhile, washington state, idaho and utah have passed such legislation and are awaiting the signatures of their governors.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve made more progress in the last 18 months in this area than in the last 120 years,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said barry melancon, the president and chief executive of the aicpa to webcpa.<\/p>\n<p>california may pass legislation this year or next, along with florida and the carolinas. legislation is also pending in many other states, including alabama, arizona, colorado, connecticut, delaware, georgia, iowa, kentucky, maryland, massachusetts, minnesota, mississippi, new jersey, oklahoma, pennsylvania and west virginia. in new york, the state society is <a href=\"\/\/www.g005e.com\/2008\/03\/28\/ny-cpa-society-battles-big-firms-on-mobility-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\">fighting over tactics with ten of the largest firms<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div
