busy season 2018: how good can it get?

more work, more clients, more fees, more profits. so who’s complaining?

by rick telberg
卡塔尔世界杯常规比赛时间

despite beginning in chaos and uncertainty with the biggest tax-law change in three decades, busy season 2018 may go down as a banner year in the books for the tax profession – one of the best ever, according to the annual 卡塔尔世界杯常规比赛时间 busy season barometer.

scroggs

kathy j. scroggs, of scroggs & associates in montecito, calif., says, “my team is working like a well-tuned grand piano.”

almost half of all cpas report a busy season better than last year, with more work and higher profits. additionally, two-thirds cite gains in revenue and in the number of clients.

one tax practitioner, reporting a “much better year,” is riding a wave of shifting clientele. “i’m having more people coming in to prepare and use e-file, more than last year,” he tells 卡塔尔世界杯常规比赛时间, “especially new business owners opening llcs.”

according to steven haines’ book “the product manager’s survival guide,” product management refers to the holistic management of products and portfolios – from the time they are conceived to the time they are discontinued and withdrawn from the market. in essence, it’s the business management of products. product management can also refer to the organization that serves to lead and integrate the work of people from other functions.

productized 1099s the new vision way

two women talkingthis is the only way they’re handled.

by jody padar
from success to significance: the radical cpa guide

here’s the old-school way of completing 1099s:

cpa calls customer before year-end reminding them 1099s need to be completed for january. cpa reminds customer to send in names, addresses and amounts for 1099s to be issued. cpa waits for complete data, usually missing at least one address. cpa rushes at last minute to enter data in 1099 system and issue 1099s. cpas have multiple customers who act like this, creating havoc and late nights in january.

if a client has been paying $5,000 for your service and even if you feel it is worth twice as much, the client may not pay much more for it – particularly if it looks like the same service. your client might pay 15 percent or 20 percent more, but double? – give me a break. unless you completely redesign your product offering so it looks completely different, your current client will have a hard time paying the price.

but when it comes to new services that the client has never bought before – different story. there is no price parity with a new service that has not been purchased before – charge at will!
