perhaps they could be rising even faster if the right people met the right spots – or the right incentives, according to a new 卡塔尔世界杯常规比赛时间 analysis.

august 2023 marked new highs in accounting employment overall; in overall staff; at cpa firms overall, in staff and in women; in other accounting services; and for women overall.

these people don’t seem to be making much more money, though. the overall earnings average tapped a new record, but some sectors saw their shares marked in pennies, while others saw declines, 卡塔尔世界杯常规比赛时间 research reports, based on new u.s. jobs data

for the broader professional and business services sector, jobs increased by 19,000 in august but shows virtually no net change since may. total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 187,000 in august, still the unemployment rate rose by 0.3 percentage point to 3.8 percent.

the accounting profession made gains for the eighth straight month and hit a record high of 1,166,700 in august, according to the latest data available to 卡塔尔世界杯常规比赛时间 research. that’s up 2,700 or 0.2 percent for the month and 43,200 or 3.8 percent for the year. for the third straight month they worked 35.6 weekly hours, flat for the month and down 42 minutes or 1.9 percent for the year. their hourly earnings barely notched a new high at $41.36, up 4 cents or 0.1 percent for the month and $1.95 or 4.9 percent for the year.

staff employment reached a record 848,000 in its sixth straight month of growth, up 1,700 or 0.2 percent for the month and 31,300 or 3.8 percent for the year. workers put in 35.6 hours, up 12 minutes or 0.6 percent for the month and 24 minutes or 1.1 percent for the year. their earnings at $31.74 were down 1 cent for the month, statistically unchanged, but up $1.73 or 5.8 percent for the year.

cpa firm employment shows a new peak employment of 555,200 jobs.

 

cpa firms

cpa firms are in the fourth month of gains, mostly small, to hit a new high of 555,200, up 2,000 or 0.4 percent for the month and 23,900 or 4.5 percent for the year. employees worked 36.8 hours, down 12 minutes or 0.5 percent for the month and 24 minutes or 1.1 percent for the year. they averaged $43.43 an hour, up 6 cents or 0.1 percent for the month and $1.61 or 3.8 percent for the year.

staff at cpa firms rose for the fourth straight month to a record 381,700, up 1,500 or 0.4 percent for the month and 18,000 or 4.9 percent for the year. their hours at 35.7 were flat for the month and up 6 minutes or 0.3 percent for the year. their earnings of $33.21 were down 19 cents or 0.6 percent for the month but up $1.03 or 3.2 percent for the year.

tax prep

tax preparation services employed 92,000, down 2,800 or 3 percent for the month and 5,700 or 5.8 percent for the year.

payroll services

payroll services had 224,000 workers on the rolls, down 2,200 or 1 percent for the month but up 9,400 or 4.4 percent for the year. they logged 34.4 weekly hours, up 24 minutes or 1.2 percent for the month but down 2 hours 18 minutes or 6.3 percent for the year. earnings at $37.43 were up 58 cents or 1.6 percent for the month but down 79 cents or 2.1 percent for the year.

payroll service staff wages hit $32.38 per hour.

 

staff at payroll services declined to 184,600, down 2,500 or 1.3 percent for the month but up 4,300 or 2.4 percent for the year. hours at 36.4 were unchanged for the month and down 100 or 0.3 percent for the year. their earnings at $32.38 are just a dime short of the record from two years ago, and up 26 cents or 0.8 percent for the month and $1.66 or 5.4 percent for the year.

other accounting services

bookkeeping has grown or stayed stable for eight months and reached a new high of 292,700, up 1,300 or 0.4 percent for the month and 10,300 or 3.6 percent for the year.

women

women in accounting increased for the seventh straight month to a record 735,100, up 2,100 or 0.3 percent for the month and 23,800 or 3.3 percent for the year. at cpa firms, they have climbed for four months to reach a new peak of 331,300, up 2,600 or 0.8 percent for the month and 12,900 or 4.1 percent for the year. women in payroll numbered 109,700, down 5,600 or 4.9 percent for the month but up 3,300 or 3.1 percent for the year.
