you’ve got to be all in and willing to rip the band-aid off fast.

it’s not one of those things you can inch into a little bit at a time, because you’ll face a lot of challenges with communication and collaboration.

i believe you will find that the biggest benefit of transitioning your firm is that you can hire the best people. you won’t be limited to your local area. your talent level will increase exponentially, which is a huge benefit for a cpa firm.

we offer three main service areas: virtual cfo, 401(k) audit, and cpa firm augmentation. your firm might offer one of those services, or you may offer those three or more. after reading through our business model, i hope that you have gained the knowledge needed to think through the processes and the tools and the people that you have in place in order to grow your company and its potential.

when you run into roadblocks – and, trust me, you will run into roadblocks – you have to look beyond your perceived limitations. is it a breakdown in process? is it a breakdown of a tool? or is it a breakdown of a person? you have to identify where the breakdown is in order to fix the root of the problem. then you can determine where you can improve your process or how you can find a better tool or employee training method or adjustment that fits your needs.

we found our niche in the industry, and that was a huge accelerator for us. i recommend finding your own niche and remember that the possibilities are endless. your niche could be dog groomers, doctors’ offices, or cabinet makers; choose whatever industry you have a passion for so you can become the thought leader in that industry.
