did you know different charts tell different stories? for example, a pie chart compares parts against the whole. it’s important that we choose the right chart for the analysis we’re doing. if we wanted, for example, to analyze revenue by different business units, that pie chart would be really effective, but something like a scatterplot might not be.

it’s important to know what these different charts do and their intended formats so that you can get the proper analysis for the type of report that you’re looking to develop. the good news is that software applications have so many to choose from, so you really can’t make a bad decision. whether you’re using excel, tableau, power bi, or countless other business solutions, make sure that whatever outcome you’re looking for, you pick the chart that answers that question.
