many american workers will not be in the office on may 29, but it is a great time to celebrate an underappreciated workhorse in the office because it’s national paperclip day. (who knew?)

remember when we used to print articles and paperclip (or staple) them with memos (or sticky notes) about why the article was interesting or needed to be reviewed? fortunately, we now have great tools that do that for us. let’s look at one of my favorites:

if you use the pocket tool, you don’t even need paper clips in a little dish on your desk. pocket is the most popular “read it later” service for saving websites, online articles and more. you can throw resources into pocket in browsers, on your phone, and via a  number of connections to other apps. you can even email pocket things you want to save. the basic version is fantastically feature-rich, and the premium version adds smart tagging and full-text searches. premium memberships are $44.99 per year or $4.99 per month. once you download the app on your devices, you can save whatever you like and access your pocket list from any device. you can view your pocket list to access saved content at any time, even when you’re offline.

so, stop sending yourself emails with links to articles. get organized and save everything to your own personal library online.
