spreadsheet day, october 17, gives us the opportunity to upgrade the humble cell-filled file. airtable is either a database tool disguised as a spreadsheet or a spreadsheet tool with database superpowers. either way, airtable gives you linked data tools to manage everything from personal budgets to company sales tracking.
the free account includes unlimited bases and allows up to five editors or creators. the pricing goes up from there, depending upon the bells and whistles your team needs, but the ever-popular pro account is $20 per user per month, billed annually.

google has aggregated all kinds of data and data visualization tools that will give you charts and graphs far more exciting than microsoft excel’s 3d pie chart. they can be colorful, animated, interactive and engaging–a great way to bring your statistics to life. flourish is another favorite. there is a generous free version and also a publisher version that is $999 a month and includes up to 10 users with the ability to add additional users for $49 per user per month.
