of course a great place to work is still important in our industry and in each of our firms.

great people are drawn to the best firms.  i believe that in a challenging economy, becoming and staying a great place to work is even more important.

by retaining first your best employees and then also being able to attract the best in the market, the firm will be able to do more work with less people and that is exactly what every firm is attempting to do.

if firm leaders use the economy as an excuse to decrease benefits and let the firm become “tired,” they may lose the asset that they need the most – their human capital.
