tips for tech savings?
use common sense and look for the 80/20 issues across the entire it environment. in the average enterprise – even smes – there are plenty of instances of ineffective it spending and contractual relationships. finding these is actually a relatively simple process and incredibly cost-effective.
you can easily reduce the it spend by as much as 30% within a couple of months of implementing a basic it asset management process. however, keep in mind that there is no silver bullet.
conversely, there is also no need to remove personnel or acquire costly new products/services. a close look at the it portfolio will enable you to locate plenty of reduction options – and, in most cases, the changes will have virtually no negative impact on ongoing operations.
