aicpa members take tax questions

over 10 years of collaboration with usa today 

washington, dc (aicpa) – certified public accountants, who are members of the american institute of certified public accountants, are answering tax questions from usa today readers this tax season as part of the newspaper’s annual effort to provide online tax assistance to readers.

“the aicpa and usa today have collaborated each tax season for more than a decade to offer tax assistance to taxpayers nationwide,” said tom ochsenschlager, aicpa vice president – taxation. “our cpa members see this as a wonderful public service opportunity and are delighted to participate.”

usa today readers can submit tax questions at www.money.usatoday.com for consideration.

cpa volunteers who are answering readers’ questions serve on the aicpa’s tax executive committee, personal financial planning executive committee, personal financial specialist credential committee, or financial literacy commission.

a tax question and answer will be posted each weekday on the newspaper’s web site through april 15.

the american institute of certified public accountants (www.aicpa.org) is the national, professional association of cpas, with more than 350,000 members, including cpas in business and industry, public practice, government, and education; student affiliates; and international associates.

it sets ethical standards for the profession and u.s. auditing standards for audits of private companies; federal, state and local governments; and non-profit organizations. it develops and grades the uniform cpa examination.
